CSz classes are a fun, supportive way to learn improvisational thinking, build confidence, develop business soft skills, and meet new people. Our head instructor, Chris Crotty, has over two decades of performance experience and has led more than 500 public classes.
Level 1 — Beginner
Learn the fundamentals of improv whether you want to perform or simply gain a valuable life skill. This course covers trust, team building, exercises, scene work, and games — not tied to any single format. You'll see how improv applies to everyday professional and personal situations.
Six weekly sessions, 7:00–9:00 PM. $120 total ($90 for teachers, students, seniors, and military). Scholarships and work-study are available for underserved communities. Students may retake sessions at no charge if they miss a class or want a refresher.
New Level 1 classes start six times per year. Register with a $60 deposit.

Level 2 — Intermediate
Prerequisite: Level 1 (or equivalent experience)
Strengthen your scene skills — character development, relationships, status, object work, and more. Explore story-based and pattern-based improv, different long-form styles, and targeted games. Students have the option to perform a long-form show on the CSz Sacramento stage for friends and family.
Six weekly sessions, 7:00–9:00 PM.
ComedySportz Minor League
Prerequisites: Levels 1 & 2 (or equivalent, plus successful tryout)
Minor League members receive free weekly training, perform in shows, and can try out for the ComedySportz Sacramento main stage team.
Private Workshops
We design custom workshops for any skill level, age group, or size. Focus on specific skills or get broad instruction — at our Sacramento theater or on-site anywhere in the region.

Custom programs for K–12 schools — from a few classes to a full year-long curriculum. Our instructors have worked with students across Sacramento, Roseville, Rocklin, Folsom, Natomas, Rancho Cordova, Elk Grove, and beyond.
